The exercises work on the deep structures of your muscles and through a sequence of movements help to strengthen and tone to improve your poise, body awareness, core and  muscle tone. Modern Pilates brings the methods of Joseph Pilates into the 21st Century by using recent research and  physiotheropy based exercises.

 

Some Matwork classes also incorporate a variety of  small equipment including therapy bands, wobble boards, foam rollers and fitness circles to help strengthen your core muscles and improve you strength and posture.

 

Modern Pilates is recommended by physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors, and is considered safe for people with back, knee, hip and shoulder problems.

At The Studio we teach ‘Mat’ Pilates and have a variety of classes from beginner to advanced levels.

Fit Mummy Pilates

An ante and post natal educational Pilates exercise programme run by a specialist pilates practioners. It brings mums and mums-to-be together to share pregnancy experiences.  Each class incorporates standing exercises for posture and exercises on the birthing ball, which help to strengthen your back, core and pelvic floor.  If you have back issues or pelvic girdle pain we can tailor the exercises to help strengthen and support your pelvis and spine.  Make new friends and enjoy your pregnancy in safe hands.
